weekly report
knitting and running and seeds and stuff!

hi pals happy monday! hope your weekend was lovely. ours was! we had time w family, soccer games, gardening, chores and errands, a movie night - and today we’re doing some house projects for the first half of the day and a family adventure for the second half!

after church on sunday, we got lunch and brought it to a park w some fam thats in town and it was the perfect afternoon! zach climbed into a magnolia tree to get a magnolia flower for our girl (frankie magnolia) and then they became obsessed w the seed pods and collected a bunch of seeds so we can plant them lol.

then we got home and looked at our nasturtium sanctuary in the backyard (aka the only thing in our garden rn besides mint) and realized that some of the plants were on their way out and had tons of seeds!! so we picked a bunch, are drying them out, and plan to plant some and gift the rest!

now that my hair is long enough for a slick back, i feel like my world has opened up a little bit!! the only thing i don’t like about the short bob is not being able to fully get my hair off me. so i’m thinking i’ll stick w a longer bob for now and just get trims, idk?? and if you were wondering - i’m still sooo in love w the rudy jude big jean jacket, i wear it so often. its super comfy and oversized and no sensory issues whatsoever. i’m in a small!
knitting a lil mohair scrunchie for my now-long-enough-for-a-bun hair!!! not following any sort of pattern, i’m just knitting a big rectangle and then will seam it together and add elastic.

i can’t remember if i’ve posted about this yet but i finished my isolda tank that i was test knitting for veronika of svartsvanur and it is the perfect tank! the split + curved hem detail is 100 and its already proven to be a staple piece. the pattern is going to be released this week or next, i believe, and i will share when it is!

bought these stainless steel drink lids for wide mouth jars and they are SO GOOD. perfect for the jars i already had (and that fit in my cupholder! praise!) they are leak-proof too, they have a rubber gasket on the inside, and then also on the little flippy part of the lid so when its closed, nothing is leaking out. i have been shaking my brown sugar shaken espressos with em and no leaking at all! so pleased w this purchase lol!
(the way i do my brown sugar shaken espresso: ideally i’d have some of my brown sugar syrup on hand but if i don’t, i put a tbsp of brown sugar, sprinkle of cinnamon, and bloop of vanilla bean paste in the bottom of my glass and add a little hot water to emulsify it. pull my shot into the glass, add ice & a splash of milk, put the top on, & shake it. fill to the top with milk and thats it!)

i’ve been running a little bit!! nothing too crazy yet, i’m still in the stage where i’m just trying to get through it, still taking walk breaks every so often, still kinda in pain lol but it is getting easier! my goal is to get up to running 5 miles comfortably. one thing i notice is the endorphins i get w running are wilddddd, like i never get those with weightlifting anymore? maybe its bc thats what i’ve done for years and years and my body is too used to it? idk. but running on a mentally-off day is helping a ton, snaps me right out of it. i am endlessly grateful for it and that its something i can do in my neighborhood.
i have been using my emf-free watch/step-counter for like 6 months, since i realized my oura ring was too big for me and no longer able to collect any data 😔 and while i do love it, and have loved not having ALL the info ALL the time (and also love that i literally never have to charge it and will just replace the watch battery when it dies in like three years), i really do want to be able to track my running, esp the pace and distance. i went back and forth on just getting a simple fitbit, a garmin watch, or an apple watch again. and my hubs had apple credit so he got me a watch! excited for that to be here and to be able to have that info for my runs.
ok now i have to share about a couple fun sales that are going on, if you’re in need of some good skincare or sunscreen!

primally pure is doing a fun promo - get a free soothing mist (one of my faves of theirs!!!) with every sunscreen purchase! this stacks with my code HANNAOLIVIAWAY10 and starts tonight at midnight i believe! goes through Wednesday.
and then my favieeee skincare brand oliveda is doing 34% off sitewide when you order 2+ products - sale is on makeup too which they’ve never included in a sale yet!

my favorites that are worth the $$:
arbequina cleansing oil - the best cleansing oil i’ve ever used and i’ve used a LOT. has been my fav for over two years now!
honey enzyme mask - exfoliating + hydrating mask, suuuuper gentle even for my sensitive skin
my favie green retinol serum - contains bakuchiol which is like retinol without the side effects
bioactive balm - veryyyy nourishing moisturizer, starts out almost like a tallow balm and turns creamy! my skin absolutely loves this stuff.
pearl primer - for a perf hydrated glowy base
skin tint - this has been my fav face makeup for awhile, it is the perfect lightweight skin tint, and when i say lightweight i mean it bc i am someone who hasn’t been able to tolerate actual foundation for years bc of how thick it feels. skin tints and tinted SPFs only for me from here on out. the only thing i don’t love about oliveda’s is that it doesnt have SPF, so i typically use this SPF underneath it. (i wear shade 8 in oliveda’s tint.)
their sale goes through tuesday at midnight but stuff does tend to sell out during these sales! thank you for using my referral link, i appreciate it so much!! xo
ok i think thats all for me for now! happy memorial day! endlessly thankful for the men and women who have fought for our freedom - we honor them today! and sending love to the families of those who’ve lost their lives for our country. we honor you as well.
xo
